Sabinsa Corporation is set to introduce a range of "soft" standardized herbal extracts, with a view towards facilitating the manufacture of finished soft gel dosage forms. The soft gel is a consumer convenient and highly acceptable dosage form which can be formulated to mask taste and odor. Bioavailability and stability of low dose active ingredients may also be enhanced.In certain functional food products, powdered extracts could present solubility/dispersibility problems. A soft extract would be particularly useful in such cases. Ginger soft extract is currently availiable. Gugulipid^® the standardized extract of Commiphora mukul, and Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) extract will also be available in the near future.
